History of Disneyland Paris, France
The theme park’s construction began in August 1988. The construction took over 3.5 years and was completed in the spring of 1992. The theme park struggled in the first years after opening. This changed in 1995, when the rollercoaster Space Mountain opened. The popular rollercoaster led to an impressive boost in visitor numbers. Today, more than 15 million people visit Disneyland Paris every year. In 2002, Disneyland Paris was expanded with a second theme park, the Walt Disney Studios Park. This theme park is designed in the style of a movie studio with indoor and outdoor rides.
